The Beginning
A Journey That Started at Over 300 Pounds
There was a time when I couldn't imagine yoga being for someone like me. My body felt like a problem to be solved rather than a home to return to. I was heavy, uncomfortable in my own skin, and disconnected from the idea that movement could ever feel anything other than punishment.
The turning point came through fitness and health training at Community Care College in Tulsa, and through the teachings of Dr Karen Wells on Udemy — where I discovered that yoga, practised with compassion and intelligence, could be a path back to yourself. Not a performance. Not a before-and-after. Just a quiet, consistent practice of coming home.
I lost weight. But more importantly, I found something far more valuable: a relationship with my body built on patience rather than shame.
The Philosophy
Learning to Love Getting Healthy
I'm AuDHD — autistic and ADHD — and I know first-hand what it feels like when your nervous system doesn't cooperate with a world that wasn't designed for it. I know what it's like to start and stop, to struggle with consistency, to feel overwhelmed in spaces that feel too loud, too fast, too judgemental.
Undod Yoga was built from all of that. Every class, every modification, every carefully chosen word is shaped by my own experience of being a person who didn't fit the image of a yoga practitioner — and finding the practice anyway.
The Welsh word undod means unity. That's the whole philosophy: mind and body as one thing, not two things at war. You don't fix yourself to deserve wellness. You simply begin — wherever you are, exactly as you are.
See How We PracticeThe Undod Yoga Intention
At Undod Yoga, we believe that wellness and mobility are not destinations to arrive at — they are built, slowly and intentionally, one block at a time.
Every person who walks through our door carries their own story, their own body, their own nervous system. That is not a problem to be solved. It is the starting point. The music, the light, the movement — all of it bends to fit you, not the other way around.
Our intention is simple: to meet you exactly where you are, and to walk alongside you as you discover that balance is not something you either have or don't have. It is something you practise. And practice is not about instant perfection — it is about showing up, again and again, and trusting that each small step is already enough.
You can succeed here. We already believe that, even if you don't yet.
